Simon Hansson is a composer based in Stockholm. His work takes the form of dense sonic environments that explore responsibility, generosity, and care in the relationship between performance, listener, and space. He writes for both electronic and acoustic instruments, creating pieces for concerts and installations, alongside a live-electronic practice in which he uses tape echo feedback to spontaneously shape vast sound sculptures. His long-duration, site-responsive work is channelled through his platform A Sudden Point of Balance, where he creates new totalities of sound and space in collaboration with other artists, often in modernist church environments. .
